As finals week begins to ramp up, so does the elections season. It’s a crowded field, as new candidates declare every day and special interests start lobbying for money.
On a non-Stanford related note, people in Washington are all needlessly worked up about some national pow-wow in 2008.

OSA

Need I elaborate? The Office of Student Activities shuts down parties, capriciously infringes on student groups’ speech rights, and makes life difficult in general. We’ve been saying it for years - nice to see everyone else coming around.

ASSU Elections A good list of candidates promises to give students a voice, challenge the OSA, and extract more transparency from both the ASSU and the University administration.
The Economy Is the stock market dive a blip on the radar or indicative of a pending downturn?
Caffeine You can get Rockstar in cases at Cosco, but our campus still lacks a good night-time caffeine solution (sorry, the CoHo doesn’t count).
Special Fees Another year of flooded email inboxes during petitioning, followed by another glut of advertising in April.
Minimum Wage The Alternative Minimum Tax gets closer to hitting the middle class big as tax day approaches. Just what the left wants - lots of government revenue.
