Environmental Activists Express Concerns

Dr. Terry Anderson Dispels Environmentalism Myths
 


On Monday, April 11, environmental and social activists from Stanford and the neighboring community heard testimony on “The State of Environmentalism to Come.” Former Sierra Club President Adam Werbach and consultant Michael Shellenberger are practiced in the art of inspiring the youth, mostly via the strength of their life stories.

Bulletproof Special Fees, non-SOCC Exec. Break with Tradition Hey Liberals: Give Me My Word Back!

The student body’s approval of every undergraduate Special Fee group on the ballot, along with Melanie Kannokada and Aneto Okonkwo’s victory in the ASSU Executive race, demonstrated a remarkable break with recent ASSU election history. Traditionally, the student body vetoes at least a few Special Fee groups and elects the executive candidate endorsed by the Students of Color Coalition (SOCC).

I’ll admit it. I spend a fair amount of time clicking around on thefacebook.com. In my perusing, I recently ran across a group of self proclaimed “very liberals.” It turns out that there are nearly 800 “very liberals” at Stanford. I could hardly believe it.
